Mount & Blade: Warband is a game of skirmishes between bands of mounted warriors. From the humble beginnings as a prisoner with nothing but your bare hands, you can create a character and an army as you choose. You may want to join one of the two new factions, fight for independence from the Ostok government, or - if you have what it takes - take control of Eastern kingdoms and forge a legend that will resonate through centuries. M&B: Warband does not have a pre-set story or plot line. Instead it features an open-ended world where your actions define your story on its own terms. Mount & Blade: Warband features six factions, all with unique armors. Each faction also has their own special troops, items of equipment and weapons. As you complete quests, improve your faction level, and gain prestige you will gain more faction slots. Future expansions will add more factions to the game. Armored infantry are your basic foot soldier unit. You can recruit them on any map or on any mission under the command of an NPC battalion commander . They are armed with one-handed swords, one-handed axes or great swords, various types of pole arms for melee combat and a dagger for quick attacks. They can also be equipped with crossbows and shields to better defend themselves. Light infantry is your basic mounted archer unit. Light infantry is very mobile and can quickly move through the battlefield or escape from a bad situation. They are armed with composite bows, their preferred melee weapon is a dagger and they can also use javelins as projectiles. They wear medium armor for protection. Light infantry will fight on foot if no horses are around but their main role is as light cavalry, harassing enemy flanks and skirmishers and screening heavier cavalry charges. Heavy Infantry is an elite version of the basic infantry unit and it has a superior offensive power against other foot soldiers due to its two-handed weapons (greatswords). They are the best to create a wall of steel against incoming enemies and can be a great help in a melee if they get involved early. They will deal devastating blows but being so slow, they have a problem escaping from bad situations. Heavy infantry is armed with two-handed swords, maces or war hammers and they also carry an axe or spear for close combat. Heavy cavalry is your basic shock unit. It has the highest offensive power against other cavalry units and it is your best tool to hit weak spots in your enemy’s line of battle due to their strong charge. They are armed with sabers, lances and polearms while also carrying a shield for protection. Light cavalry is your basic skirmisher unit. Light cavalry are scouts, raiders and hit-and-run units. They are light armored, fast moving units that are armed with sabers or bows. These units are best used in hit-and-run attacks, to harass enemy flanks or rear guard actions to protect your own infantry against cavalry charges. Camelry is your basic shock unit in desert maps. Camels have more hit points than horses and can carry more weight but they cannot be used for cavalry charges due their low speed and cannot exert powerful attacks against other mounted units. cfa1e77820
